"Chase the dream, not the competition"

The year is 2015 and destiny brings three members of the Rays the Roof franchise together on what was then known as team SWAT. Friendships were formed, cuts were made, new members were added and several team names followed: S Club 7, the Volley Llamas and ultimately Volleysaurus Rex. With our dinosaur t-shirts, raw talent and unmistakable charm, we quickly became the face of OSSC and thought we would keep our team name indefinitely, but the universe had other ideas. One fateful night at Patro d'Ottawa, a volleyball hit a vent on the ceiling, dislodging a toy rubber stringray that had been stuck up there since time immemorial. The stringray landed on our side of the court, nearly striking one of our players, and we took it as a sign from the heavens that we were meant to be stingrays all along. The Rays the Roof franchise was born, an ode to both our namesake and the roof from which it descended. As a united stingray fever we proudly carry the tradition of our franchise to this day.
